Today a living room is not just a living room any more; with the technology available we are creating home cinema theater media rooms where we can be comfortable to watch our favorite shows or movies. With flat screen televisions, wireless surround sound, and the new blue ray disc technology is a wonder we ever leave our homes. Below is a little information on what makes a home cinema theater media room.

First off lets look at the theater side of things. To us a movie theater is a huge flat screen with THX or Dolby surround sound that leaves us with a little hearing loss after the movie. We can now have this technology in our homes. While we may decide a 60″ plasma screen television is as big as we want to go that option is definitely available with high quality pictures. Next we might look at the surround sound systems available. Do we want Dolby digital sound or wireless surround sound or both? The technology has made the surround sound not only wireless with high quality digital, but also unobtrusive to the eye. Or to state it another way cosmetically pleasing. We can even take the home cinema system to an extreme and have projector and projector screen to make it like the real movie theater. The choice is of course up to you as the consumer and how much you are willing to pay for a high quality system.

Next let us look at the media room aspect. Media room typically denotes DVD players, VCR’s, and game consoles. When you combine all of this technology into one system you create a home cinema theater media room. The DVD players have advanced to give the best digital picture capable of our technology. We even have a blue ray disc DVD player that enhances technology even more and allows more data on one disc than ever before. VCR’s are slowly becoming obsolete, but for those who have yet to make the complete move to DVD’s there are still new players coming out most of them are DVD/ VCR combos so that you have one component instead of two. The game consoles vary and your know, which you prefer. Each media component has the ability to play music CD’s with high quality sound.

Whether your preference runs to a smaller version of the home cinema theater media room or the larger version you will not find a shortage of technology or products on the shelf to find the best system for you and your family.
